01

The Issue

A task is never just a task.

  • Every unfinished thing carries a feeling. And when you sit down to do the work, what you're actually managing is that feeling- not the action itself. The anxiety of being judged, the guilt of having left something too long, the shame of every thing you haven't managed to dealt with yet.

  • You're trying to be functional on the outside while wobbling on the inside.

  • The big emotions- shame, anxiety or simply the frustration of knowing exactly what needs doing and still not being able to do it, don't get named. And because we don't give them a name, we fail to address them.

That's emotional disorientation.

02

The Shift

What if the problem is not effort, but emotional orientation?

Research consistently shows that the simple act of naming a feeling reduces its intensity. When you can say "this is dread" or "this is shame" rather than just experiencing it as a wall you can't get past, something changes. You can start regulating it. Not suppress it, not perform your way around it. Find enough steadiness to make a decision. To take a step. To start the thing. The feeling doesn't disappear. But it loses its grip.
That's emotional literacy. And it's the foundation of everything that follows.

03

The Practice

Self awareness gets you nowhere without practice.
Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the Emotional Culture Deck (ECD), the workshop takes the shift from something abstract to something you can actually practice. You learn to anticipate the emotional load before it arrives, name what's present when it does, and build simple structures that hold you in place when motivation drops, plans change, or the wobble comes back.

We don't rise to the level of our expectations. We fall to the level of our systems.
Emotional orientation is the system.

04

The Result

The email that sat in your drafts for a week gets sent.
The bill that triggered a shame spiral every time you walked past it gets paid on time.
The feedback that used to trigger rejection sensitive dysphoria no longer feels overwhelming.
You stop performing competence and start practising it. The chasm between what you know you're capable of and what you actually accomplish in a day gets smaller.
Not because you pushed harder. Because you stopped fighting your own nervous system and started working with it.

From participants

The tools of this workshop completely transformed my relationship to my work. The clarity I gained in just an hour and a half was incredible.

I came expecting that this would be another workshop recycling the same old tools and I'm so happy i was proven wrong. The exercises are counterintuitively simple in their practice yet profound.

Timo H.Social Media Manager

Brilliant workshop! The facilitator created space for real breakthroughs. Highly recommend.
